We are always developing new videos and series and like to keep you informed on what will be available shortly. If you think you can add to these series or any others, please do let us know.
Radiology and scanning
A large series covering issues such as barium meals, MRI and CT scanning. We will also cover a wide range of ultrasound scans including: abdominal, pelvic, musculoskeletal and lumps and bumps, children’s hips, trans abdominal and transvaginal scans.
And for breast scans, we will be providing advice for women on: Mammograms, Breast Ultrasound scanning, One-stop assessment, Breast biopsy, and Recall for Assessment after the routine breast screening.
Breast surgery
13 videos providing an introduction to surgery, the role of the breast care team, through explaining the surgery itself, the main procedures and post-operative care. This series will be extended to cover Triple Assessments, breast assessments, and prosthetics once this first series is done.
Audiology
Half a dozen videos about wearing and caring for your hearing aid.
Maternity
We already have some video to support the maternity journey and we are currently working on additional ones including: Folic acid and vitamin D, Preconception care, Mental health in pregnancy, Domestic abuse in pregnancy, 1st trimester screening, Flu and whooping cough immunisation
Heart failure
A series that will help patients to understand the causes of heart failure, the investigations we undertake, the treatments we can offer, the impact on their lifestyle and how they can manage their condition including issues such as oedema, weight and diuretics. We will also be providing guidance to GPs and clinicians on ICDs.
Voice therapy
An introduction to the voice therapy service and what to expect.  Then guidance on voice care: general principles about looking after your voice; managing reflux; and voice exercises (release of constriction, twang, sob, belt, anchoring).
Paediatric Allergies
The volume of referrals and issues around children’s allergies is growing and the support needed in clinic, by GPs and Practice Nurses as well schools and parents is significant. This series will cover topics such as:
– What is anaphylaxis and how to manage it
– How to use an epi-pen
– Preparing for and coming into a paediatric allergy appointment
– Preparing for and what is involved in a skin prick test
– Cows milk allergies and formula milk, breastfeeding and weaning
Hydration
A series to help people manage hydration, especially in ward and care settings.
Rheumatology
Given the success of the existing DMARDS and Biologics series, we are going to add to these with some videos on practical advice for daily living to cover the most commonly asked questions by patients.
